Office Hours

Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
(Closed for Lunch: 1:00 – 2:00 PM)

Friday (once per month): 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

How are Appointments Scheduled?

  • Children four and under will be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM. Young children tend to do best early in the day after a good night’s sleep.

  • Appointments for restorative treatment (fillings, crowns, extractions, etc.) for all children also will be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 12:30 PM.

An appointment time is reserved specifically for your child. If a change in your schedule prevents you from keeping that appointment, we ask that you provide at least 48 hours notice. Canceling an appointment with less than 48 hours notice or failing to show up for a scheduled appointment is considered a broken appointment. This prevents us from offering that appointment time to another child in need of our care.

  • We reserve the right to charge a $50.00 fee for a broken appointment.

  • In the event of multiple failed appointments, it may be necessary to dismiss a child or family from our practice and schedule no future appointments.

  • Arriving 15 minutes late for any appointment may require rescheduling so we do not keep other patients waiting. Please call if you are going to be late. We will do our best to work you into our schedule.

Your cooperation in complying with these appointment guidelines is appreciated.

May I Stay with My Child During the Visit?

One parent is welcome to accompany their children into the treatment area during the examination. This gives you a chance to see our team in action and allows Dr. Venezie to discuss dental findings and treatment needs with you. For the privacy of others, we ask that only one parent accompany your child into the treatment area. We ask that siblings and other family members remain in the reception room.

Based on many years of experience, we know that children do best when parents assume the role of silent observer. If more than one person is talking, your child likely will become confused. Also, Dr. Venezie must establish trust and cooperation directly with your child rather than through you.

As your child grows older and more comfortable in our office, we recommend that your child be given the opportunity to accomplish dental visits on their own. Our goal is to help your child grow to be comfortable and cooperative with dental care for a lifetime.

Payment Policies

Our vision is to provide the highest caliber of comprehensive dental care for children.  To help families manage the cost of that care, our practice can accept payment directly from most dental insurance companies.  Please note, however, that our office has no relationship with your dental insurance company and is not part of any private dental insurance network.  Your benefits are determined by the type of plan chosen by you and/or your employer.  We have no control over the determination of your benefits, the terms of your contract, or the method of reimbursement.  Thus, you are responsible for payment in full of any portion of our fees not covered by your dental plan.

At the time of each visit, you will be expected to pay the portion of our fees not covered by your dental insurance plan.  This portion will be an estimate based on the coverage information provided by you and/or your dental plan. Payments can be made by cash, check, debit card, VISA, MasterCard or Discover. Financing plans also are available through CareCredit.

After final payment has been made by your dental insurance company, you will be billed for any outstanding balance due. If payment by your dental insurance company results in a credit on your account, this will be refunded to you. You also have the option to apply any credit to future dental visits for your child or children.  Please note that a credit of less than $25.00 will be applied to future visits unless you request a refund.

Note: Most Delta Dental plans as well as federal employee plans administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield will not make payments directly to out-of-network dentists.  Families covered by these plans are expected to pay in full for services at the time they are rendered.  As a courtesy to these families. our practice will file their dental insurance claims so that they can be reimbursed directly from the insurance company in a timely manner.

  • Please be aware that the parent who brings the child to our practice will be responsible for payment of all charges at the time of service.

  • We cannot send statements to other persons.

Facts Regarding Dental Insurance

Fact 1: NO INSURANCE PAYS 100% OF ALL PROCEDURES
Dental insurance is meant to be an aid in receiving dental care. Many patients think that their insurance pays 90%-100% of all dental fees. This is not true! Most plans only pay between 50%-80% of the average total fee. Some pay more, some pay less. The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you or your employer has paid for coverage or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.

Fact 2: BENEFITS ARE NOT DETERMINED BY OUR OFFICE
Sometimes your dental insurer reimburses you at a lower rate than the dentist's actual fee. Frequently, insurance companies state that the reimbursement was reduced because your dentist's fee has exceeded the usual, customary, or reasonable fee ("UCR") used by the company. A statement such as this gives the impression that any fee greater than the amount paid by the insurance company is unreasonable or well above what most dentists in the area charge for a certain service. This can be very misleading and simply is not accurate.

Each insurance company sets its own reimbursement schedule based on fee information from the claims it processes. Frequently the data can be three to five years old, and these "allowable" fees are set so the insurance company can make a profit.
